I designed the PeaceZone.net to support the Zone’s Empowerment Network’s mission and objectives. As is the case with all active websites the PeaceZone is ‘a work in progress’, and will be updated with new facilities, tech tools, and content to support the Zone’s and our members overall objectives.
The Logo for the PeaceZone consists of a Cube with a Sphere inside of it. The Cube represents the software that powers the PeaceZone (WebCube), and the sphere represents the Globe. The cube is tilted in a way so that the image of the ‘Peace Sign’ appears where the cube and the globe intersect. The ‘Peace Sign’ reflects our passion that technology can be deployed for the greater good of the planet.
I designed the website using XHTML, CSS, PHP and the built in CMS of the PeaceZone WebCube software in some places. Current website graphics were designed using Adobe Illustrator to draw the line art and Photoshop for the header graphic.
As a web designer, I focus my skills on creating clean and practical websites that are accessible and compliant with the Standards set by the W3C. I use XHTML and CSS for markup and presentation. I apply PHP as necessary to help simplify maintenance, so the site can be easily updated.
