PLANETARY PERSPECTIVES: ASIA

The company or individual entrepreneur with vision knows that there are very few remaining ‘frontiers’ in which they can base assembly and manufacturing operations or companies from which they can source high quality competitively priced fast moving consumer or industrial goods for their import and distribution operations. We find such ‘frontiers’ and companies in Asia. You do not have to be a large company or wealthy individual entrepreneur in order to benefit from doing business and networking with Asian businesses.

I was in Malaysia in June ‘05 and participated as a panel member and guest speaker at the OIC Trade Forum held at the Putrajaya International Convention Center. I was there at the personal invitation of Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz, the Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia. I presented a paper at the forum entitled Market Entry Tools: A New Spin on Some Old Ideas. During my extended stay in Malaysia I renewed and developed new strategic contacts and business relationships.

Doing Business in Malaysia

Any strategic business plan implemented to penetrate the Malaysian and regional markets must be sensitive to the differences between Asian, Islamic, Oriental, and Occidental legal and social systems and amenable to entering relationships and contractual agreements that are the true expression of an equitable co-operative relationship and not just a legal document or business entity which are only determinants of the contemplated relationships.

The Planetary Perspectives and PeaceZone mantras are:

  • Sustainable Development
